Friday Night:

Leave Beijing,  Shanghai, Chengdu hard/soft-sleeper train or flight to Xi'an

Saturday:

Arrive in the morning and get picked up at train station(no charge) or airport (+180 rmb). Go to Hq hostel which is located in the heart of the city for light breakfast.

Terra Cotta Warriors- dubbed as the 8th wonder of the world, the most significant archeological excavations of the 20th century, and a sight not to be missed by any visitor to China

Lunch (shaanxi speciality pao mo)

Banpo Museum- The site marks a settlement that dates to the matrilineal clan commune period of the Neolithic period. Before its discovery in the twentieth century, it had been lying in wait for some 6,000 years.

Huaqing Hot Springs- The Tang Emperor, Xuanzong used to spend his wintertime in company with his favorite concubine Yang here. Yang was recognized as one of the most enchanting ladies in ancient China.

After this effort feel free to enjoy the Xi’an nightlife or chill out back at the hostel.

Sunday

The Shaanxi History Museum considers it an obligation to be a showcase of ancient civilizations. Since it was opened to the public in 1991, its architectural buildings, internal apparatus, and exhibits have made it famous as a first-class museum in China.

Big Wild Goose Pagoda- Originally built in 652 during the reign of Emperor Gaozong of the Tang Dynasty (618-907), it functioned to collect Buddhist materials that were taken from India by the hierarch Xuanzang.

Tang Paradise -covers a total area of about 165 acres and of which 49 acres is water. This tourist attraction lays claim to be the biggest cultural theme park in the northwest region of China and also the first royal-garden-like park to give a full display of the Tang Dynasty's (618-907) culture

Music fountain show -Covering an area of some 110,000 square meters and with an investment cost of 500 million Yuan, this is said to be the largest music fountain square in Asia.

150rmb/ or 240 with dumpling banquet. A performance of Changan music and dance originated in China's Tang Dynasty over a thousand years ago. This wonderful combination of colourful costumes, melodious tunes and ancient history is a living, breathing work of art-an extravaganza not to be missed!

Monday

Biking on the city walls- the most complete city wall that has survived in China, as well as being one of the largest ancient military defensive systems in the world, a great way to get a feel for this ancient city.

Shu Yuan Men (The Arts Street)- Historical relics, calligraphy, paintings, antiques, jewels, and folk art fine works

Stroll through the city centre past the Bell and Drum towers

Muslim Quarter a strong and thriving area of narrow streets, markets and shops which is a tax free bargaining mecca and offers some of the best souvenir shopping in China.

The Great Mosque one of the oldest, largest and best-preserved Islamic mosques in China. Occupying an area of over 12,000 square meters, the Great Mosque is divided into four courtyards, 250 meters long and 47 meters wide with a well-arranged layout. Landscaped with gardens, the further one strolls into its interior, the more serene one feels.
